aestheticization of garbage – visual research

Visual research explores the role of waste in contemporary culture. The problem of environmental pollution, which is not losing its relevance, over time forces humanity to get used to the visual patterns of household waste. The phenomenon of aestheticization of garbage allows us to place household waste in an unusual context of art and thereby provokes discussions on the topic of ecology. Visual research allows you to consider the most common types of waste in the environment, determine the place of waste in modern visual culture and explore the ways of its visual interpretation by various authors

The book's technical print marks reference the aesthetics of packaging, which is a large part of typical urban trash. Signatures in the book are placed in the space next to the spine, referencing the tab on the packaging, under which technical information about the product is often placed. The page numbering is deliberately cut off, referring to fragmentation and trashiness. The numbers of the previous pages are duplicated at the top of the spread, the numbers of the current pages are indicated at the bottom

The cover and titles of the publication support the idea of sorting out the trash can. In each chapter of the visual research the reader conditionally "takes out" new content from the trash for consideration. In the end all of the trash disappears.
