Hearing Through My Eyes - Conceptual Film Photography Album Art
“Hearing through the eyes” consists of a series of photographs that represent songs. I wanted to create something that really pushed me to think critically of how something can be conveyed. Professor Romeo Di Loreto, who this project was under the guidance of, made a selection of songs that I had never heard before so I could analyze and interpret them. After making the photographs, I added graphics and typography to make them look as album covers for the songs.
I decided on this project because I love music. I feel at times that I am a “fake” music fan, because there is not one genre that is “mine”. By that, I mean that there is not one genre that I know all about or have a specific favorite. I love to hear music and discover new things. To discover is to try new things, so by choosing a project that is out of my comfort zone and it not being something I “like”, I challenged myself to grow and adapt. Two things that I think are essential for the career I am going for.
In the end, I ended up falling in love with every song.
