Creating and visualizing an image from a photo

The goal was to "learn how to create a scene and models of objects as a reference from a self–selected photo. Create and customize materials, camera and light sources, visualize an image as similar as possible to a photograph for future visualization of the interior of the room."
2. Work
The 3ds Max (Arnold) program was chosen to implement its idea.
For graphic work, the photo shown in illustration 1 was selected, which will be a reference for the visualized image.
Illustration 2 – The use of a modifier for setting UV coordinates on the surface of an object using the example of a table surface: a) the location of points on the reference; b) the direction of points on the resulting visualization
The sweep modifier allows you to correctly apply a texture to a complex object.
A scan has been created for the case (Illustration. 3), and a texture suitable for the object has been created in the image editing program.
Application of the scan modifier: a) a case on the reference; b) a case with a texture map superimposed; в) a texture map for the case
To create a simple plastic material, a standard surface material is used. The base color (Diffuse Color) sets the main color of the plastic – black. The bottle has a rough surface, so the roughness of the base surface is adjusted (Base Roughness=0.7). There is a small reflection of light, therefore, it is necessary to adjust the reflection coefficient (Specular Weight =0.7) and the roughness of the reflecting surface (Specular Roughness=0.4). The reference and the resulting visualization result with the above settings are shown in Illustration 4.

When setting up the transparent glass material, the scattering color (Transmission Color) is white, the value of the scattering depth (Transmission Depth =350) is selected so that there are no dark areas. The highlights are created using the Abbe number (Transmission Dispersion Abbe=40). The reference, visualization result and settings are shown in Illustration 5.

The obtained results and comparative characteristics.
As a result of the work, the scene and objects were created as in the reference (Illustration 8), the materials were configured. A visualization of the scene is obtained (Illustration 8).
The same location of objects and similarity of geometry are observed. The camera angle and its parameters are configured.
Conclusion.
During the graphic study of visualization, I studied and consolidated the skills of creating and configuring the physical properties of materials. A scene has been created, a camera has been set up based on the selected photo
The visualized image is as similar as possible to the reference, the similarity of geometry, the location of objects and the angle of the scene are observed.
