EDGAR Stool

Made solely from waste produced from packaging of electronic appliances and adhesives, The Edgar stool is an exploration of the possibilities of the material.

The Idea was to create a functional piece of furniture with the least amount of resources, in terms of Material, Cost and Energy.

It is an exploration aimed at breathing life into something which it otherwise would've never had, opening up avenues of re-looking at what we consider to be waste and if we could utilise existing resources that are being discarded at an alarming rate simply because they are labelled as waste.

At the scale of prototyping, the cost of making one stool amounts to ₹24(approx. $0.29).

The possibilities of this exploration include widening the avenue of furniture typologies such as "transit furnitures" and "short duration seating".
