Industrial

This body of work deals with some of the earliest imagery that I can remember as a child. At the time my mother worked at one of the largest banks in downtown Milwaukee. Every morning she would take me along for the ride, and when we arrived she would drop me off at a nearby daycare center. I can still remember the smell of yeast from the breweries, and the southern skyline of  industrial yards, smokestacks, and cranes.

I feel that it was this lingering imagery that called me back to move downtown as an adult. The memories that were in my mind, while slightly nostalgic, had a very alien feel. The only way I can seem to describe the feeling is as a kind of Déjà vu phenomenon. They are memories that my mind can't seem to validate, creating a very foreign and detached feeling. It is this feeling that I wish to address with these photographs.
