Eyewear frames made of animal skeleton
Sometimes when we move the manufacturing far away from the consumer the manufacturing itself becomes abstract. This project called Notice were a tribute to the earliest of handicrafts - to make products of animal skeletons. The global meat production increases and in Sweden nearly 3.5 million cows and pigs get slaughtered every year. Their bones are called slaughter-house waste and almost everything becomes bone meal. By using the slaughter-animals flat bones it was possible to create a handmade frame design.

I worked constantly with animal bones to get to know its properties as a material.

The shaped of the frames were inspired by Richard Avedons famous photograph of the model Veruschka.

Even thou every frame were handmade, a sketch were made in Solid Works to facilitate the work in the workshop.

The results were a eyewear frame made of skeleton from slaughterhouses with a classic shaped inspired by Veruschka. The frames were made of three parts and the skeleton material can be kept clean from make up and dirt by regular wax polishing. The glass can be instert into he frame by heating.
