Liberation, a 35 mm film story of one Slovak valley

in 1944 the Slovak State was still a fascist puppet state with strings attached to Hitler's Nazi Germany
The Slovak National Uprising took place from 29th august to 27th october 1944.
... and our lives willingly we give in defence of our homeland and it's freedom
Cemeteries of Allied and Axis forces are situated in the valley, many graves visited still today and more names of fallen servicemen are still to be discovered.
to remember the heroism of the fallen, a 37 meter high memorial stands in Svidník, one of many others with a red star on its top even today
The chateau in Spišský Hrhov village is a historical landmark with only 2 pieces of its original inventory as a result of the Red Army campaign through Slovakia.
...
Even with many sites still reminding us of the horrors of war,
people today tend to forget the suffering and heroism of their ancestors.
Those people then vote for representatives who willingly lie and
twist history in their favor.
