Apocalypse Party Branding Project

To try my hand at building brand identity through design, I helped SoCal punk band Apocalypse Party update their branding to build a cohesive identity.
STARTING POINT
To start the project, I asked the band members to describe the feelings they wanted to convey, the image they wanted to present of themselves, and what existing branding they had. They wanted to focus on a punk aesthetic with bright colors, grungy textures, and an energy matching their music. They also showed me these two existing sketch logos, which they had used previously.
ITERATIVE PROCESS
For each of the designs I put together, I started with a simple design sketch and then played around with modifying different parts of the design, sharing my work with the band members to make sure I stayed on track with their expectations.
For this series of designs, I tried to incorporate more of the original sketch logo with my own creative twist. I experimented with colorful the design could be without being overwhelming.
COHESIVE IDENTITY
I found the mushroom cloud to be a very strong motif, so I incorporated it in multiple of my designs along with the eye-catching purple and red color palette.
