November 2023 Personal Project

ROOMMATE is a popular term among gay couples in my country. Usually it will be used when they want to share their intimate moments in social medias. Because of some policies or national conditions, most of them cannot make their relationship public.

I wanted to illustrate some common frames in daily life to make queer intimacy more visible.

And I also took this project as an experiment to furthur develop my artistic style. I was led by the joyful, warm, strong color blocks and retro textures to visualize the pictures in my head.

室友是一个在中国同性伴侣中的流行词，代替表达不能明说的亲密关系。我希望在这个系列里面通过温暖强烈的色块和平面构成，构建无数个生活中的场景和时刻，表现一种归于生活平淡的常态。
