Mac Demarco Vinyl - Class Final - Chloe Byte

Our final project in Graphic Design was super fun. It was a great way to incorporate actual history and what we were learning about into something we could make. We learned about the different design era's and then were assigned a decade for our final project. I was given Art Deco, and although I was very excited about it I was definitely a little intimidated because there was so much room for creativity in this project and I wanted to make something unique. We were in charge of creating a vinyl cover with the theme of our decade and I chose Mac Demarco as my artist. The vinyl I created is based off of his album, "Salad Days." In that album cover he is front and center and I recreated that but by drawing him in art deco style instead. That was definitely the most difficult part about this project and I am honestly not sure if I am super happy with the illustration part still. The rest of the theme is supposed to match Erte style of art, with the spotlight especially. I added the lines as a part of the geometric shapes and lines that art deco is most known for. Below I have also included my moodboard and sketches that I made before this project.
