TEDxSydney is the gold standard for independently run TEDx events and has become the leading platform for the propagation of Australian ideas, creativity and innovation to the rest of the world.
TEDxSydney 2023 brought together a diverse line-up of world-class speakers and performers for an exciting and thought-provoking day. With a curatorial theme of Tipping Point, TEDxSydney 2023 challenged its audience to imagine new futures with speakers sharing critical, innovative and revolutionary ideas across various fields, from Mental Health Treatment to First Nations justice.
3AM was asked to design the identity for the event based on the theme “Tipping Point”; focusing on critical turning points across society, culture and technology. Our creative emphasises that our world is constantly changing; any new idea can dramatically flip how we think about things. Our design system captures the momentum of change and the illumination of new ideas. Every moment, small or significant, leads us closer and closer to the critical point of extraordinary change. As the world tips dramatically into its future, what will be waiting for us on the other side?
The identity, micro-site, environmental graphics, wayfinding and print ephemera employ a plane that tips dramatically through space, revealing new images and inverting the well-established TED red.
