California has many great national parks and monuments that many of us are familiar with. California also has hundreds of lesser known natural areas that can be amazing places to visit if you seek them out on maps or on your travels.
Trona Pinnacles is a small 15 square mile national natural landmark on BLM land. The landmarks 500+ tufa spires rise out of the Searles Dry Lake Basin which is about 50 miles south of Death Valley National Park.
