LUX Magazine
Editorial Branding & Redesign

LUX is a quarterly lifestyle magazine put together by a dedicated team headed by Darius Sanai, also Editor in Chief of Conde Nast Contract publishing and renowned for his luxury and travel commentary for GQ magazine. Now in its twelfth year, LUX needed a fresher look. The main task was to give the title a unified look from cover to cover with a distinct flavour in each section. Besides a new flexible grid, each section has its own divider and fonts were standardised—headlines are modified on the header font. The Front section carries very brief articles hence the design is kept light. The Well houses the feature articles hence the use of flamboyant headlines, large images and colour accents. The Back which contains mainly lists, watch and cars stories is designed to be heavier in weight with a more rigid structure to wrap up the magazine like a heavy full stop. As a whole, this presents a different approach towards atypical luxury magazines.
