Alamo Pecan Ecommerce Site Redesign

Alamo Pecan, a speciality ecommerce site that creates custom gifts and tins with flavored pecans, candies and other items, asked Standard Beagle to address a number of pain points in this redesign.

The problem: The existing ecommerce platform -- a hosted solution through a major US company -- was not able to handle large corporate client lists; online orders were no integrated into the store's POS; most people called in their orders because they could not order they way they wanted to online.

We worked with Alamo Pecan to transition away from the existing platform and create a custom store that would improve efficiency and alow them to easily handle large accounts online.

The project was scoped out in 4 phases.
1) We transitioned the store to the nopCommerce platform. During this phase, we transitioned the existing the design to the new platform, making only slight design improvements.
My thought was that it would be important to keep the overall site feel intact for branding purposes, but UX improvements were necessary.
2) Customize the store further to handle large corporate accounts, upload customer spreadsheets and keep a database record of accounts and sales.
3) Record customer feedback and perform testing when traffic picked up to the site and customers were ordering.
4) Make design changes based on that testing.
