Portraits  - Portfolio Vol. 1
This is my first year, semester one Portfolio. It has photos I've taken from the last four months of school.
I love the darkness and mystery of this shot. It was taken during class when we were practicing in the studio. The light coming from the right side, shadowing her face, has a big affect on the whole image.
This photo was taken when a group of my peers and friends decide to recreate the viral "Pumpkin Head" photoshoot. We had to carve the pumpkins ourselves and as my friends were carving I decided to take some getting ready pictures. this one I took over the shoulder of a friend and it was a great shot. It has great depth of field and lighting.
These three pictures are of a good friend of mine. She was the first friend I made when I started at Algonquin College. We partner up for every project so we have become very comfortable with taking pictures together. the first one has a very strong vertical line and good depth of field. The second one has a good background and the subject is very in focus. The third one has the subject perfectly in the middle. She has a quirky expression that gives her a very youthful look.
This picture is of me. It was taken in my car mirror when I went out to shoot for a project. it was good framing from the mirrors border. I really like this one because it made me feel like a really photographer. I have become more confident in my abilities. I put it in black and white to make the image look like when photography was first created, like film photography and polaroids.
Refelction: I've learned a lot since the first day of classes. It has been a tough journey but I have grown so much. I've learn't how to become a more confident photographer and thats made my photography become better. My favourite part of this project was going through all my photos and picking my best ones.  I'm looking forward to my future in photography.
