For my Typography class, our first project was to read an article and create a poster inspired by that article. My article was "The Obscene Typography Machine" by Philip B. Meggs.
My intention with this project was to represent through my poster just how dominant the computer is. I did this by having the text "The Machine" (which is what Meggs refers to the computer as) seemingly loom over a smaller font. The font that makes up the "ABCDE" is Baskerville, which Meggs identifies as one of the classic fonts that is made with true craft.
