This course critically analyzes multiple — research- and choice-based — perspectives of object and image-making and challenges students to develop a personal framework in the processes of visual art and design.
In this project we were allowed to pick our own topic that pertains to creativity and art systems, how we use them and how we would improve them. I asked special permission to observe non-creatives on ceremonial psychedelic experiences. I provided the users with pens, paper, crayons, markers, and pencils. The results were combined to create a whole picture, transferred to a canvas, and then painted along with the user. Below you can find the original ceremonial art, the painting and its processes, and finally the culmination of my research can be found in my paper.
