The Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival 2014

Setting up for the event, The Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival. My sculpture of handsewn tomatoes and crafted cherry tomatoes being carried in.
My homemade cardboard 10ft. bi-plane with clouds made by my partner, Nicole, and custom made chef pinatas parachuting down to the tables.
Another view of the plane, clouds, and pinatas.

This shot features my handmade table cloths: recycled coffee bags and custom printed Andy Warhol's Tomato Soup Can.
For the festival, every restaurant that we designed for has a theme and logo for their restaurant. This table is for The Optimist, their theme is fishing and they are known for their octopus. So, it was fitting me to create a Giant Killer Tomato Octopus with wrapping tentacles. At the end of the festival the head of the octopus became a big hit as people placed it on their heads for pictures.

This table is designed for the restaurant, JCT Kitchen. Their logo is a pig ... so, it was fitting to create tomatoes dressed up as pigs trying to infiltrate the farm.
A closer look at the pigs and tomatoes. My partner, Nicole made the paper mache pigs, tree, and tomatoes.
This table was designed for the restaurant, King + Duke. Their theme is hunting and books. So it was fitting to create a slab of spilled tomato guts and taxidermy tomatoes in the background staged on books. I made the slab of guts with giant meat cleaver and my partner, Nicole created the taxidermy tomatoes.
This design was for the restaurant, St. Cecilia. Their theme is Mediterranean with sirens of the sea as a logo. So, I made a cardboard boat capsized my my handsewn tomato pirate. I added in cardboard waves and cherry tomatoes with teeth to complete the scene.
Another view of the tomato pirate, waves, and cherry tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes were such a big hit that they were causally plucked away from passerbys throughout the festival ... not many of them survived the festival.
This is the dessert table, and features my handsewn fuzzy pink and red tomatoes hanging around candy cane swirly trees to add whimsy.
We had a local artist, R.Land, create a custom 6' x 5' backdrop for our instagram photo booth. People posed against it with my custom photo booth props. I made three pop art signs and a clear umbrella with a tomato splat on it (as if being attacked). Donations went to benefit The Giving Kitchen (a local charity). The jar was full of donations by the end of the event and the line to the booth was constant. Success!!
