translate photography language to kids
Photography nowadays has become extremely intuitive thanks to smartphones and anyone can take pictures without worrying much.
but what if kids had their own device dedicated to photography? Designed to make photography basics as easy as possible to understand, with the right size and accessories made just for them.
my goal with this project was to give 3+ years old children a better introduction to this art making a toy designed on their necessities.

Trying to explain to a child what ISO sounds very challenging, right? That's why a work of concept-translating was necessary.
The main goal was to design the affordance of the product based on videogames and toys concepts, trying to avoid to use touch screen as much as possible.
The selfie timer is represented by “TNT”, The selector, customizable on different parameters such as light, focus or shutter speed, is a lever. The shutter release / handle that resemble water-guns triggers.

There are other modules to make the experience complete but keeping it simple.
a flash light for night shots, a mirror (instead of an expensive selfie monitor) and a strap to bring the camera outdoor.
the ergonomics was designed to be kids friendly: big handles to have better grip, big buttons to be easy to use, all in bold and playful colours.
