Sanctified is a 3 part editorial piece in which I based my fundamental content or theme around the information age, the future, the rapidly growing industries and our ‘status of cyborgian’. I focused on the idea that we as civilians are breeding a new generation of human beings who will learn more from a machine than from our own mothers.
I incorporated a theme so closely related to that of an endosymbiotic ‘cyborg’ as its a fictional & hypothetical being with physical abilities that is extended beyond normal human limitations through medical enhancements. It explains exactly how the new age & its technology is effecting us.
Obtaining the underlying content for my articles from Kalle Lasn’s ‘Adbusters’ editorials about the cyborgian individuals and the chinese corporations, I began my first 2 articles using my own photography to create cyborg identities on my 3 models. A sense of repetitive cloning, emphasising my concept.
I decided to change the way editorial information flows by creating fold out (horizontal & vertical) sections, using dotmatrix printing to enhance the digital theme, timelines, photomontaging and post-production editing.
The third article talks about the virtual realities of our current standing through the example of an extraudinary artist named Andrew Thomas Haung and his ‘Solipsist’ animation.
Articles 1 to 3 are the 3 editorial articles which form part of the Sanctified Magazine. Article 1 & 2 have attached strips of
dotmatrix printing that holds the actual articles which either run horizontal or vertical.
