My 100 days project is based on illustrating or doodling a New Zealand music artists quote once a day
for 100 days in a row. This piece is from the song Black Bird by Fat Freddys Drop.
I illustrated a black bird in a garden full of kiwiana plants like Pohutakawa flowers, Kowhai tree branches, Silver Ferns and more. I used the colours black and grey because the of feelings and emotions I link to the song when I hear it. The lyrics through out the song portray a dark mood. It was also a significant song to me, in relation to my cousin, who past away last year. This piece of work is dedicated to him and if you look closely you will spot his name among the plants.
