Positively Mirrored

  Description
This is a personalized handheld mirror with positive affirmations on it and bible verses tailored to a specific person. The shape of the mirror is a dog head because all three people saw dogs as their comfort animals.  Then the musical notes for one is meant for the person who says music calms her. The bird is for the person who says birds chirping calms them. The ribbon is for the person who fought and won her fight against Breast Cancer. Basically, all you have to do is hold the mirror and read the affirmations any time you're feeling down and look at the verse for extra spiritual strength.

User Testing
For the testing the goals that I was going for were: The mirror makes the person feel more positive about themselves and the other goal was hopefully it could be something used every day. What I learned from these tests is that a lot of people go through life with getting little to no positive reinforcement at all. Through asking these series of questions as pictured below I determined that I had the right idea but my design to the younger people was not practical enough. It would be better if it had like a stand or something of that nature. With the words of affirmation some hated it and some loved it. The ones who hated it just are not good with positive affirmations because they make her highly vulnerable. The ones who loved it loved certain affirmations that really resonated with them.  I had two people who felt the size of the mirror was too big and they felt that it wasn't practical for everyday use while the other two felt otherwise, they felt the size was good for what it was, and one said she'd use it every weekend and the other said almost every day. As for the weight for the most part they agreed that the mirror was light and a good weight there was one person who kind of disagreed with this though. The comfortability of the mirror was very good from what they all said. What I got from all of them though is that they all loved the concept of the mirror, but they feel like it could be more practical like a mirror with a stand, and 3 out of the 4 believed I could have painted it better. Over all though it is a good starting point for what it could be.
