IT'S NOW OR NEVER
A NOT SO USUAL C.L.A.Y.G.O. PSA
Public service announcements have existed since the time that I can’t even remember, so I thought I already have an idea on what to expect and how to begin. However, I also sensed that as much as I wanted to make it with PSA looks and feels, there is a need to change the approach and structure. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of catchy, informative, and interesting PSAs but it shouldn’t stop with the commons and usuals. Therefore, I intended to differ and make something, not so new, but not that usual either.
Basically, it’s about the C.L.A.Y.G.O. campaign. You know that stuff, advocating for cleanliness and orderliness of an area which happened to be our school where I’m attending college, specifically, the Salon de Actos. In my view, instead of delivering an act with a twisted and creative skit or storyline, why not make it straight to the point? Go for reality already and push the button with a clear punch!
At first I wanted to show what makes Salon de Actos THE SALON DE ACTOS of our campus. Actually, it is this infamous area of the school because, as seen in the illustration, various students of different levels, courses, and sections come together to bond, to talk, to accomplish school works, and many more activities. This is the reason why there must be an unprecedented need to secure the neatness, the cleanliness, and the orderliness of this wonderful area, or else no one will take it seriously and with decency.

To solidify the thought, I wanted to be braver and truthful with the concept so I decided to include testimonials from individuals who dwell and see the Salon as something that matches the given description and responses on what makes Salon de Actos the ONE AREA!
Yet the irony of it is the fact that the urgency to maintain its cleanliness is for the students to have a healthy environment, yet they are also becoming the reason why the tidiness of Salon is turning upside down.
The following images show what the Salon can become if not taken care of by these students – the reason why the C.L.A.Y.G.O. campaign became a thing for us. In the PSA, I wanted to be blunt and straightforward about it, that the area has turned into something unkind and unattractive with the negligence of many in maintaining the order and cleanliness.
Overall, the editing of the PSA is more in accordance with the beats and music integration rather than basing it on visually driven approach and storytelling incorporation. I intended the feels to be something of an informative trailer with psychedelic or out of this world tune and tone. The inspiration is from the mid-season trailer of Loki season 2 whereas the music is getting in touch with the crafting of sequences, making them synchronized and with harmony.
I just hope that this 1 minute PSA can stand alone to be firm and straightforward in delivering the unhinged and fully exposed messaging: that doing C.L.A.Y.G.O. must begin NOW, and NEVER is not an option
