This animated film came about as a book trailer for Toby Barlow’s novel, Sharp Teeth. Toby asked if I could focus on the love story aspect of the book – the other animators, all male, happened to make some gory pieces. Wanting to also try something gory, I tried to get across the feeling of heartbreak.

The title is a play on “Hungry like the Wolf” by Duran Duran, a song about a man on the prowl for satisfaction. The animation is about that “hunger” from a woman’s point of view.

The book is written in free verse. It inspired me to try to channel the same feeling of reading free verse through the editing.
