About this Project:
I worked with the founders of Granite State Freeze Dried Candy to create a fun and inviting package design for seven of their freeze-dried candies. They wanted to incorporate a couple of design elements that related to the freeze-drying process, including snowflakes/snow vectors, a font that had snow or ice on it, a character design of a yeti or a snowman (something that thrives in the cold), and cracked ice texture in the background.
They gave me the idea of making the character a friendly yeti or a snowman. And from there, I created this fun design that is sure to win over the hearts of many that want to buy these delicious treats.
I'm happy with how this design came out. It's one of my first professional package design projects for a local candy company, and I learned a lot from designing a front and back to a package. From this project, I learned how to create and format nutritional facts label, including a “may contain” section, and writing an allergen warning on the label.
This project took me about 15+ hours, from sketching thumbnails to the final design.
