Pixie Dust: Emberly
My photorealistic character concept "Emberly" was designed for the game "Pixie Dust".  This character was modeled in Autodesk Maya, sculpted and painted in Autodesk Mudbox, and the concept art sketches were done in Sketchbook.

Character Backstory: Emberly was once a popular Pegasus racer in her homeland, however, after the passing of the previous king everything changed.  The new king no longer allowed Pegasus racing and required citizens to either be miners to mine valuable resources or pixie hunters for sport.  Emberly refused to be a miner, but she also unwillingly became a pixie hunter.  Pixie hunters would have to capture as many pixies within each race (hunt) against other hunters; those that captured the most pixies would remain as pixie hunters, but the ones with the least would be forced to mine for resources.  Emberly never liked the idea of capturing pixies just for sport, as no one knew what happened to them after each race.  After being a hunter for some time, she became curious about the purpose of the pixie hunts.  This became a difficult endeavor to find out, since the kingdom was under constant patrol by guards; any citizen caught within restricted areas would be immediately sent to the worst of the mines, the coal mines.  However, she was lucky that she did not have to go too far into the castle, where the most guards were stationed, before stumbling on an old book that mentioned the pixies.  She was able to take it to a secluded area only she knew about to be able to read it; the book mentioned that pixies could locate seven special treasures, if a person had a certain number of each color of pixie.  The book mentioned that these treasures gathered could grant one wish.  Knowing about this explained that the king’s greed is why the citizens must be miners or be hunters.  She devised an escape plan for the next hunt, so that she could beat the king to these treasures, and hopefully return things to the way they once were.
