Pied Stilt or Poaka Bird

The name poaka comes from the Māori language and means "to yelp", referring to the bird's high-pitched call. The pied stilt is a good flyer and can migrate long distances. Some birds from New Zealand have been recorded in Australia, New Caledonia, and Fiji.
