As a graphic designer and an aspiring author, I combined my passion for both in a college project where I wrote a short story and designed its cover page. The process began with the creation of the story itself. I spent several weeks brainstorming ideas, outlining the plot, and drafting the final story.

Once the story was complete, I started to think about the design aspect of the project. I wanted the cover to reflect the story’s mood, setting and main characters. I began by sketching rough ideas and experimenting with different layouts, typography, and imagery.

After finalizing the design concept, I brought it to life using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I carefully selected the right fonts and colors to create a cohesive and engaging design. I also used InDesign’s advanced layout tools to create the perfect balance between text and imagery.

Throughout the process, I paid close attention to detail and made sure to stay true to the story’s tone and themes. I also received feedback from my peers and professors to improve my work. In the end, I was proud to present a finished product that effectively represented my short story both in its written and visual form.
