Casual Dining Exhibition

The brief for this project was to create an exhibition stand, using existing frame work, in a small space that captured the Casual Dining, pop up, street food feel. Budget and timings were very tight.
My research began with looking at examples online and a visit to a newly finished foodhall in Leeds that aimed to capture this street food style in a modern shopping centre.
Several key elements stood out at the research stage, Strong typography done in a traditional style, industrial lighing, rusty and aged metal work, brick and wood textures.
My inital visual aimed to capture all this, the deadline was very tight with only a day to get the basic idea agreed. My main aim was to try and offset all the falseness of a printed modular exhibition stand by using as much really texture and materials as possible.
Typography was added to photos of real brick work for the main bulk of the background panels. This was then layered with real elements to create an authentic feel. I comissioned a rusty metal framework to hang the menus and lighting from. Also a signwriter was comissioned to paint the wooden counter and a panel behind the flat screen.
Interchangable menu boards were designed to compliment the theme of the stand and supporting items.
Final design visual is pretty much bang on the the finished article.

This project was a great success for the client, it was supposed to be a one off but has already been used at 4 separate events since.
For the 2015 I revisited this stand with a few to build on what we had done in the previous year. The main addition was a sign I commissoned from Goodwin & Goodwin, we also repainted the wooden front with a large logo.
Again the stand was a great success and received praise from the clients and customers.
