The Brief
This project focuses on establishing a unique corporate identity for myself as a designer and showcasing my design personality and skillsets to prospective employers and collaborators. The outcomes include a strong corporate identity, a logo system, a creative business card, a Behance portfolio, and three paper-made promotional items to reinforce the identity.

Context
Creating a self-promotion is a chance to showcase design skills and personal brand in the competitive industry. As a South African-based designer, I incorporate slang and cultural elements, addressing unique SA experiences like Loadshedding and more with humour. While humorous, fake Sangoma flyers can be harmful to traditional Sangomas, revered as healers in South African cultures. This project highlights my design calling, while contributing to cultural awareness and sensitivity around the practise.

Client, Audience, Communication Goal
As a designer, I specialize in playful and versatile South African-centered design with an experimental approach. My goal is to create a lively and enjoyable experience for the audience, showcasing my unique skills, versatility, and South African pride with a touch of humour. The target audience for my work includes South African freelance agencies, both small and large corporate design businesses, and companies with a sense of humour. I aim to collaborate with clients who appreciate creative solutions, allowing for experimentation and unique approaches to diverse design problems. The Communication Goal is to portray and brand myself as a designer who was meant to be in the South African graphic design industry to encourage more experimentation and more playfulness.

Creative Strategy
The plan is to emphasise and combine aspects of the designer's personality in terms of graphic design; such as being South African, witty and experimental by focussing on the fact that graphic design is a calling one gets to pursue. This calling equips a designer with passion, love, strategy, problem-solving, experimentation and commitment towards their work and project.

Creative Concept
The overarching creative concept draws a compelling parallel between the client as a designer and the revered South African Sangoma. This metaphorical connection is rooted in the shared narrative of both having a distinct calling that propels them toward their respective careers with profound passion and love. The essence of the comparison lies in their shared commitment to problem-solving methodologies, employing experimentation, a diverse toolkit, and effective communication. Much like the sangoma's dedication to addressing challenges through spiritual and traditional means, the client, too, brings a similar fervour to design, utilizing a range of tools and a communicative prowess to navigate and solve complex design problems. This creative concept not only adds depth to the designer's narrative but also underscores the universality of the pursuit of passion, problem-solving, and commitment within diverse cultural contexts.

Media AND VISUAL strategy
The media and visual strategy feature thick, hand-drawn lettering for an organic, witchy aesthetic, emphasizing experimentation. Squiggle patterns, including in the brand pattern, blend modern design with Sangoma concepts, bridging tradition and contemporaneity. The black-and-white palette with a pastel pink accent symbolizes Sangoma magic and the designer's unique personality. Blastimo script brush font adds a witch-doctor feel, and the cohesive approach reinforces creativity, experimentation, and a personal touch.
