A single day project with the aim of creating a pen based on my preferred cheap drawing refill (BiC Round Stic) designed as an ergonomics demonstration for underrate designers. The form and material choices demonstrate principles of fit and adjustability to illustrate the role of ergonomics in product design, outside of ‘ergonomic aesthetics’.
Angled rubber tubing holds tight with friction alone and can be moved to suit not only differing hand sizes but also individual grip style. The grip becomes a lid when not in use. This compact, thin and comfortable pen has remained part of my daily drawing kit.
