The drawing playfully explores the similarity between the sounds of tap dancing and the sounds of horse hooves: in a fantastic reality in which animals could dance just like human beings, a horse would not need shoes to practice tap dancing, and he could join the team just with his natural atributes, without the need for accessories. The artwork makes a subtle allusion to , taking this aspect to the extreme with the inclusion of an animal. The title “Offbeat” is an ambiguous reference to the pattern of rhythms built in tap dancing and also to the unusual presence of the horse in a dance group made up mostly of humans.
