MD200-3 | Eggcellent Collaborative Animation
This collaborative project is done with Ilyaas Osman where we were given the task in MD200-3 to construct a 15 second animated scene made up of various elements that transport the precious egg from the left side of the frame to the right. We decided to have the egg move throughout a kitchen in diffrent historic time periods of comics, namely 1920's vintage and 1940's classic. All artworks are original with Illyaas creating and andimating the first half of the video while I created and animated the second half.
I challenged myself with this brief by creating a long artwork in Adobe Photoshop using the pen tool and half tone effect to create the feel of a 1940's kitchen in comic print style. Due to the level of detail this was a very labour intensive artwork creating process. I started by brainstorming with Ilyaas and created a moodboard on Pinterest to use as refrence (https://pin.it/6BBYJtY). We regularly checked in with each other to ensure we stay on the same page and sat together to coherently combine the 2 videos.

Never underestimate illustrators and how many hours goes into the process of finding refrences and don't get sucked into the details, sometimes it is better to have all assets mostly done overall that one asset done perfectly.
