This project was created by woodburning a cozy winter scene onto a box. I wanted it to have a fantasy woodland atmosphere, so I added a thick boarder around the illustration on the top with a Nordic pattern. The center picture itself was derived from a previous sketch I had done of a little winter gnome years ago, and it was nice getting to expand on that character more. On the sides of the box, I added snowflakes I had designed. Overall, I wanted this project to seem fantastical and whimsical, as if this box were found in some winter wizard’s eclectic library!
