Using a photograph of a SINGER sewing machine for reference, I recreated the image in Illustrator using the pen tool, shape tools and — most significantly — the gradient mesh tool, to give the object shine, shadow and a three dimensional appearance. The assignment also involved making an accompanying line drawing, as well as an advertisement in which to place the rendered appliance.
