Virtual Reality Forklift Simulation "Forklift Fury"

Problem Statement
The project aims to create a cost-effective and efficient forklift operator training program using virtual reality, reducing training time and resources compared to traditional methods. The goal is to enhance safety and proficiency in forklift operation by offering a cost-effective and engaging alternative to traditional methods.
Design Thinking 
The project, following the Double Diamond process, aims to develop a cost-effective and efficient forklift operator training program using virtual reality. The process involves understanding current challenges (Discover), clarifying the problem (Define), generating VR solutions (Develop), and implementing a refined training program (Deliver) to enhance safety and proficiency while reducing traditional training costs.
On-Site Research
Important information for our simulation was obtained from our on-site research at the Indian Lifters Forklift Training Centre in Chakan, Pune, Maharashtra, India. Important details regarding the current training program, safety precautions, technical features of material handling vehicles, and—above all—the unspoken guidelines followed when operating forklifts were all gathered. We were able to pinpoint the issues that both operators and trainers were having difficulty with thanks to this in-depth understanding.
Game Flow
The Game Flow design aligns with existing physical training principles, creating a dual module for users to seamlessly connect with both hands-on and knowledge-based learning. In the VR hands-on training, users progress from mastering basic controls to navigating complex load handling scenarios. Concurrently, the knowledge enhancement phase offers diverse sources and quizzes, encouraging users to explore and deepen their understanding of vehicles and safety measures. This tiered approach ensures users engage meaningfully, building proficiency in both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
