This illustration was in reference of both Nelson Mandela journey being a prisnor of an aparthied government and the isolation of him from his family. The tattoos on his body represent how he took an extreme negetive and consisted and grounded it on a positive during a time where he himself was close to applying what many black activists in a similiar position consider "any means possible", but didn't.

A hero in all accounts.
