Content automation workflow

As a Content Creation Specialist at VMware, I was tasked with utilizing my expertise in template creation to streamline the content production process. Each quarter, the Demand Gen team created hundreds of mini-campaigns, many of which were in hands of external agencies that had to deal with very specific branding guidelines. This translated in an average of 8 hours of work and often 4 rounds of revisiones per campaign.

By leveraging brand guidelines, integrating Adobe's GenAI tools, and creating an extensive library of brand assets, I crafted a workflow that revolutionized banner creation. This innovative approach not only accelerated the production rate by eight times but also dramatically reduced spacing errors and typos by an impressive 90%. Additionally, the average number of revision rounds plummeted to a mere one, underscoring the workflow's efficiency and effectiveness.

PHOTO-VIEW BANNERS
Photo-view banners utilize VMware's vast stock photography library to showcase the work of professionals who rely on their services. The template I created uses linked placeholders to instantly add the images in the correct masked object, ensuring consistency across all the different sized banners, and GenAI to save time when editing the photos and tool steps in, saving us hours of painstaking photo editing. Within minutes, the foundation for all our banners is complete.

ASSET-VIEW BANNERS
Asset-view banners are used used to display information on devices or booklets. To streamline their creation, I created a library encompassing all the possible assets, layered and editable to facilitate customization. After incorporating the required content into linked smart object, each banner is instantly updated with the chosen asset. This methodology proves particularly valuable when creating multiple identical banners with varying asset versions. With this template in place, producing each version takes less than a minute.

TEXT AND LIBRARY OVERVIEW
The project brief details that most of the revision rounds on banner projects are due to spacing and text errors. I added a guideline layer to ensure that each banner adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in spacing and visual appeal. Additionally, text elements across all banners are linked, enabling simultaneous updates when modifying the headline or sub-headline, saving valuable time and minimizing the risk of errors.
For more unique elements that cannot be automated, a collection of pre-approved configurations resides in the library to serve as starting points, allowing designers to infuse each campaign with a distinctive look while maintaining brand consistency.

In essence, these templates empower team members to swiftly and effortlessly generate content, streamlining workflows, enhancing speed and efficiency, and minimizing the margin for error. Despite their automation capabilities, these templates preserve the creative freedom to customize each campaign, ensuring a unique and distinctive aesthetic. Their scalability extends seamlessly to accommodate diverse campaigns, formats, and brand guidelines, making them an invaluable asset for producing high-volume, on-demand content.
