Personal Branding Exercise

pastiche lavande
I began another exercise of rebranding my portfolio and general body of work toward something that better describes my artistic style and collection: Pastiche.

As stated on my profile page, "pastiche" is a piece of art (ANY form of art- visual, dance, literature, etc) that is borrowed from an idea, style or subject matter. This perfectly describes my work. It provides transparency and honesty to my portfolio.

I want to feature the lavender plant, sometimes with the text and sometimes without the text. I was initially going to have the logo be an abstract Fleur-de-Lis or a Chandelier, just to appeal to my girly side, but it seemed almost too typical to accompany with a French title (I have strong French heritage and am making an effort to embrace it).

The logo I chose is also featured similarly in another logo (I don't think tied to a company- it seemed to be a separate exercise), but it was attached to a stalk. As a result, I am abandoning the stalk of the lavender plant and keeping a simple, clean design with just the flower of the plant. It is important to me that the visual logo can stand strongly without the text next to it, but that it also be effective with the text accompanying.
I was advised to remove the small circle that used to be at the bottom right of the flower bud. I will also be changing the typeface to one that is legible from a distance.
This is the latest development in the logo.
Toying with the flower part of the plant, with or without the stalk to see what works best.
I leaned toward the stalk at first, and played with blending type.
I don't dislike this look, but it seemed a little dated.
After choosing to stick with the simple bubbly-looking flower head for the logo, I paired it with type and tried it in color and black & white to make sure it could function well in both styles.

HERE IS WHERE MY DILEMMA LIES: which typeface do I choose?
I like the elegance of Exmouth (the top calligraphy), the cleanliness of Helvetica and the fun, laid-back feeling that the Honey Script (bottom typeface) provides.

I am truly stuck!
I wanted to make sure the graphic portion could stand alone without losing its strength or integrity, in both color and black & white.
