Roots and Routes
"Roots and Routes" is a Montana-specific challenge for high school students. It gamifies learning about local food systems and communities, with opportunities to win prizes and take part in exciting events and activities. The challenge aims to boost community involvement and inclusivity, breaking financial barriers. It equips students with local knowledge, encourages community connections, and promotes understanding of pollinators, food systems, and relationships with local farmers, providing a practical path for Gen Z to create a positive impact.
The branding and design system incorporates a handwritten typeface, hand-drawn illustrations, and a palette of bright, yet natural colors. These illustrations bring forth a sense of warmth and approachability, aligning with our aim of connecting high schoolers with local farmers and producers. Aspiring to foster a community and establish a connection with my audience, evoking the feeling of a friendly chat over a picket fence – inviting, familiar, and deeply authentic.
