Candy packaging
Here, I made a candy package for cats over the span of a couple of weeks.
Research

First, I scrolled through different variations of candy packaging that inspired ideas because of shape, colour or feeling. I managed to scrape a few of my favorites into a group.
As a follow up, I researched the templates from my top few packages to see if I could find something similar.
Moodboard

I really like the retro colour wheel and way of advertising, so I wanted to try and bring it into my packaging
Style Board

Originally, the eventual style was going to be cartoon with smooth dark lines, like this:
but as I started working, I quickly figured out a style that I thought was more fun. I nudged in the direction of a sort of painting style that I really liked, with long strokes and mixing lines.
Sketches

For target audience, I chose cats, which is usually a playful kind of package with a happy feel to it. A bit like the 1 through 10 age group. I really liked the idea of a package with something sticking out, like a tail or ears.
Out of all the packages here, the last was the most logical option, since it had an easy opening for little cat snacks, so I brought that forward and started working on the final sketch
This was the final sketch, I wanted to keep the colours a little dim to really get the retro style in there.
Process

I decided to drop the tail and just keep it more compact, because the final product wasn't going to be very big, or from very sturdy material.
I made a title and logo for the product, here
I am very happy with the final product, it catches the feeling I was aiming for and looks nice overall
