* The agg. after the species name for ruby-tailed wasp indicates that this is an aggregate species. This means that the name is used to refer to a group of closely related and visibly identical species, where there's no way to be certain which particular one it is without putting it under a microscope. The name chrysis ignita is used for the aggregate because that's the most widespread species, and therefore the one it's most likely to be.
