Overwhelmed by cheap plastic „made in China’’ souvenirs that dominate every summer on the streets of Cracow we decided to design an alternative for that. A real souvenir that is useful and will subtly remind of the visited place.

We used design method that left us with 3 factors we wanted to include in the project - Material: Brick & Limestone - Inspiration:Map of the City - Usage:Kitchen

We came with a Spices & Herbs Organizer that is made up of ceramic which colour and texture resemble red brick and limestone - two materials that dominate in typical old-town cellars. Shape of the organizer is inspired by the characteristic urban layout of Main Square in Cracow. At a first glance it is a typical Magdeburg Law layout, but two corner streets were merged into Grodzka street which lead directly from Main Square to the Wawel castle.
