Crumbs* – Digital guide to online petitions
A project born to support digital activism.
The project was born as a visual narrative of data collection through the steps of signing a digital petition on petition platforms. It is a practical guide designed for the data literacy of promoters and signatories, in the form of a website.
Crumbs* starts with an introduction to the tool of the online petition and offers a vocabulary and an otherview on the six macro types of data collected, symbolised with a set of six custom icons.
The user can choose between three case studies analysed in their process of signing. For each case study the user sees all the data collected through the process, not only given by the user himself but also invisibly. The experience is concluded by giving the user a useful guide to be an active but safe activist.
