HAPPINESS IN THE DUMPS - Kitbashing Installation

"Happiness in the dumps" is an installation I had made as a part of my Kitbashing Project in my Open Elective Course in 6th Semester.

Kitbashing or model bashing is the practice of making a
new scale model by taking pieces out of kits and scrap materials.

The model shows a ragpicker boy dancing in the slums while collecting garbage. "Happiness in the dumps" is an IRONY on the lives of ragpicker kids who find happiness even in garbage and are oblivious to the materialistic world around them.

I have used metal, cardboard, plastic, cloth, bricks, cement, mud and wood to make build this model. This involved a rigorous process of material selection and handling and learning workshop skills.

While working on this project, even I found my happiness while searching for materials in the dumps!
This is me posing with my model!
Thank you!
