I brainstormed different ideas and themes for a Japanese Notan. I sketched the different designs ensuring I keep symmetry over the 4 edges of the original square. I chose the line theme of design number 9 to move forward. 

I created a more intricate design based on the line theme I brainstormed before. I stuck with using straight lines and triangles, mirroring shapes over unexpected edges.

Lastly, I created a final notan design using black paper where I cut out the design and reflected the cut out shapes over the right edge. I then glued the pieces to a white board.
