“Malandros” are important entities in Afro-Brazilian cults, especially among Umbanda. They are considered patron spirits of bars, gambling houses, homeless people and those who walk the streets at dawn, although not aligned with entities of a negative nature, they are a kind of archetypal transcription of the “trickster”.
