ABOUT
19.11 is a design project of a showroom for a Ukrainian clothing brand of the same name. The interior design was developed in collaboration with Oito furniture design brand and the owner of the 19.11 brand, Olexandra Semenenko. The project was started in August 2023 and was finished in three months.
CONCEPT
The showroom is located on the first floor of a historic building in Kyiv city center. The main objective was to create a visually expanded space to optimally display all the brand products and to establish a cozy atmosphere for visitors.
The clothing models from 19.11 brand are vibrant and daring. The design of the space is intended to serve as a background, like a photo studio or a modeling podium. It makes visitors feeling like fashion models at a runway show.
FUNCTIONALITY
The overall space is divided into the three areas: a general zone for featuring showcased clothing models, a fitting area and a dressing room. In the main hall there is a zone where clients can feel like they're on a runway and enjoy watching at their attire in front of the large designer mirror 'Loveself' by Oito brand. Even lighting fills the space properly without creating any unnecessary shadows. Additionally, several items from the Oito brand are placed throughout the room. Such as 'Lovedick' ottomans and 'Bug' coffee tables which serve both functional and artistic purposes. They bring the space closer to an art gallery look.
DESIGN
The special attention was given to the selection of the color palette during creating this design. A dark gray shade was chosen for the ceiling to further enhance its visual height. Warm white color was selected for the walls which expands the space visually. The walls are created with the idea of the backdrop for clothing collections.
A textured poured floor is resembling concrete. This material is not only functional but also visually fits the whole space.
The glass block partitions (leftover from previous tenants) were restored. Through these partitions the light comes into the fitting area and the dressing room. The light reflects from the glass and creates beautiful patterns. The final addition is the white curtain hanging from ceiling to the floor, which provides coziness and softness. The curtain also functions as partitions for the fitting room and the storage area.
