MissPixels presents RETWEET. A series of images where the
atmosphere of peaceful but harsh Quebec winters
are counterpointed by anarchic typographical landscapes
using the source code of hateful and misogynist messages
sent via Twitter.

The artist's focus is the paradox between serenity and violence.
In addition to this piece, MissPixels presents a three dimensional
work "Stalagmite 2:40 P.M.", an assembly of 140 symbols* taken
from these web 2.0 assaults

MissPixels présente RETWEET, une série d’images où l’atmosphère à la fois paisible et inhospitalière de l’hiver québécois est nourrie par des trames typographiques anarchiques, composées du code source de messages à caractère haineux et misogynes diffusés sur Twitter. L’artiste travaille sur le paradoxe entre la sérénité et la violence. Annexée à cette série de neuf images, Misspixels présente la pièce tridimensionnelle «Stalagmite 2:40PM», un assemblage de 140 symboles* prélevés aussi de ces agressions 2.0.

« Depuis 2011, je recueille des captures d’écran de tweets haineux s’adressant à moi et à d’autres personnalités féminines publiques. Cet acharnement pervers dirigé vers moi s’est transformé en carburant créatif. Chacune des mines déposées est maintenant un élément base important du processus créatif. »
