How can we help teachers put together a didactic lesson?

The project
Doedactiek has a website with a database of lesson design tools for elementary school teachers. Doedactiek was founded by teachers with the idea of inspiring other teachers to use digital tools for a didactic lesson. However, the website is not convenient to use and there is not much contact with the users. We were asked to create a new design of the website that considers the users' needs and wishes carefully. We examined the current situation and studied the target audience and then came up with new ideas and tested them.
My role and learning points
I participated in this project together with 4 fellow students. I mainly focused on research and developing the website in WordPress. I learned how to do human centered research while exploring what motivates the user and how we can target this group. I learned a lot about WordPress and how to create a website in it with the use of certain plug-ins. I also took on the role as scrum master and made sure the planning ran smoothly.
Design challenge
Current situation
Teachers want to create an interesting and informative lesson for students, but don't know exactly what tools will help with this and how to apply the tool to achieve this goal. They are overloaded with tools and don't know what to pick.
Preffered situation
Help the teacher to make the right and practical choice in finding a support tool for the lesson.
Our solution
A new design for the website whereby close attention is paid to user-friendliness. To improve the user-friendliness a clear filter system is created that allows users to easily find the right tools. Also the connection between Doedactiek and teachers is strengthened by the possibility to share experiences.
